Description
This project will aim at the design and implementation of a ISOP LLC resonant converter with the ultimate target to test, at a real application system level, the use of GaN devices versus traditional technology and to investigate novel solutions for drivers, overcurrent protections and control.
This project will therefore start from the implementation and testing of a half bridge configuration, including bespoke designed gate drivers, using both traditional (IGBT/SiC) and GaN based technology. Using this half bridge as a building block, we can then build the whole converter. This converter will finally be used to create and test new and complex microelectronic devices, which allow to demonstrate the GaN Technology extra value in a fast and reliable way and to synthetize suitable bespoke control platforms.
