The proposed project involves the design and implementation of an innovative power electronics conversion system to be used as a multi-port active node in a DC microgrid, with the aim to satisfy the following objectives: 1) Delivering a pioneering solution capable to make Distributed Energy Storage Systems (DESS) and Distributed Energy Resources (DER) suitable to enable the Internet of Energy perspective; 2) Designing and implementing suitable low-level control methods in order to manage the power flow in the DC microgrid with possible connection with the AC grid; 3) Provide a methodology for the design of the microgrid passive elements to target volume and weight reduction and increase the overall efficiency; 4) Allowing remote controllability of the Active Node by Distribution System Operators (DSO) so to enable enhanced grid services (power flow management, Harmonic content reduction, local support for voltage and frequency regulation, Virtual Power Plant, etc.). |
