We are proud to announce that the paper “Effects of the Floating Capacitor Voltage on the Torque-Speed Characteristic of an Open-End Winding Synchronous Reluctance Motor Drive”, published in the IEEE Transactions on Industry Applications in 2025, received the 2026 IPCC Transactions on Industry Applications Second Prize Paper Award from the Industrial Power Converters Committee (IPCC) of the IEEE Industry Applications Society.
The award was presented on October 6, 2026 during the IAS IPCC meeting at IEEE ECCE 2026 in Vancouver, Canada.
The paper studies how the voltage of the floating capacitor affects the torque-speed characteristic of an open-end winding synchronous reluctance motor drive, a configuration that extends the operating range of the machine without requiring a second power supply.
