Modern grids, microgrids and on-board networks are dominated by converters with their own control loops and filters, whose interaction can lead to resonances and instability. We develop impedance-based and state-space stability assessment methods, grid-forming and grid-following control, online grid impedance estimation and self-tuning control, as well as medium-voltage STATCOM and multi-port DC microgrid nodes, validated through real-time Hardware-in-the-Loop simulation.
Key capabilities
- Small-signal and impedance-based stability analysis
- Grid-forming / grid-following control
- Online grid impedance estimation and adaptive control
- STATCOM, DC microgrids and multi-port active nodes
