Plasma confinement and heating require power supplies that control currents of tens of kiloamperes with high precision and fast dynamics. In collaboration with the Divertor Tokamak Test facility (DTT) we develop SiC-based high-current power supplies and Power Hardware-in-the-Loop load emulators that reproduce the frequency-dependent impedance of the vertical stabilization coils, so that power supplies can be tested under realistic conditions. In 2026 this work ranked 4th out of 20 finalists for the SOFT Innovation Prize and received the Best Poster Award at SOFT 2026.
Key capabilities
- High-current SiC power supplies
- Power Hardware-in-the-Loop and load emulation
